Flawkes, you stupid girl! Can't you do anything right? This entry is incomplete. You can help the Buddies at play by completing it! |
Buddies are small, humanoid creatures with no self preservation skills or free will, and only pursue one thing — to have lots of FUN.
Personality[]
For Buddies, the only thing they desire is to have FUN - they enjoy being kicked around, driven at high speeds, dancing to music, and behaving recklessly. They abide by any instruction given to them, but lack any kind of self preservation skills; what sounds like lots of FUN could actually be very dangerous, like jumping into a plane engine or trying to swim in deep waters. They will listen to any command given to them, especially if it produces FUN.
There are four Buddies with different personalities to most Buddies, who all perform instruments. They are known as The Band.
Appearance[]
Buddies are very short, with incredibly stubby arms and legs, and no body hair. They have very little facial variety, but all appear as Caucasian males. They are completely nude, but lack any genitalia or sexual dimorphism. Their feet are incredibly dirty, and they have large behinds.
Plot[]
By the way, why are you still here? Are you... a saint?

Autumn[]
As Flawkes and Captain Borkin arrive in the archipelago, the Buddies greet them with music and celebration. One Buddy launched themself into the sky attached to a firework, and accidentally causes the Hippo to crash into the sea.

Resource[]
Buddies double as a resource in the game — by entertaining Buddies, they help produce FUN, which is used as currency for both vehicle parts and structures. Buddies can be created by throwing debris into the Sinkhole, where they can be birthed from their volcano. The maximum amount of Buddies can be increased by purchasing structures.
However, Buddies are not an infinite resource; while they can be created from the volcano, the player risks permanently killing Buddies by kicking them too much, letting them drown, crushed by Penguins, or by carelessly destroying them in puzzles. Should too many Buddies die, the player will receive the "bad ending", known as the FUN Ending.
